What area is that?

What area is that?
The Northern Gulf of Mexico coastal region, in particularly SE Texas to South Alabama. Laura and Sally both affected that area.

And we wonder why the border is closed.
P.S. I was following this thead during the day and noticed many "hot tower" comments - just because a TCU is blossoming does not mean a system will explode. As we are seeing there are many factors that make or break a tropical system, and right now as the NHC said in the current discussion it's shear and dry air. Any thunderstorms that form will only be short-lived unless there is a major change and that is not forecast right now...

You can just tell by the presentation it had this morning. It doesn't matter if it's 2020 or not. Hopefully some of the more intense rain bands can die down as well.

SE Texas actually lucked out with the mentioned storms, thankfully. I am in SE Texas and after talking with fellow firefighters near Laura and Sally's landfalls they actually did ok.
