I think we’ll at least see tropical storm watches for the northern gulf coast by the end of the night

The look of this system already...
I’m just sick to my stomach...
Storms that form this fast and play these tricks this close to home almost never turn out well..

So in 2 hours we should have Tropical Storm Mustang Sally, don't know how they can't pull the trigger by then if not earlier.

Hurricane models show convection exploding over the center tonight as it approaches South Florida. The Mid level center will likely end up being replaced by a new one over the actual center.

Call me an outlier, but it still looks disorganized to me. The centers are not aligned. One of these centers needs to win out overnight.

Looking like the center will pass right over you but at the time being most of the convection is on the south and eastern side but that will likely change

It is still seperated from the MLC. though there could be another vort in the convection. the one on radar is rotating around and will be on land in a couple hours. so we just have wait.

Sorry, I didn't mean to delete that post :( You can repost it.

I was meaning to reply - I wasn't debating the intensity - I was questioning where the eventual center will consolidate.

In New Orleans, watching close. Still have most of what we bought for Laura that went west but gonna probably see about filling the kit back up tomorrow. A heavy rain event stalling here would not be ideal for me. Gonna wait until Sunday to see if I need to move things up on the lower level.
