Hopefully this wave that had a strong chance then went “poof” WON’T be used an an excuse to prematurely bust this season. 2005 and 2017 had plenty of “poofs”.....

A lot of the models are showing this coming back to life when it gets closer to the Lesser Antilles.

Because this largely replicates what has occurred thus far this season. Whether a more active northern part of the wave axis or perhaps it's further south extension, these waves have coughed, hacked, sputtered their way west all season. Sure, a few early on were quasi tropical home-grown's but the African wave train has been active from early on. Conditions for initial development have been largely good, but developing T.D.'s and T.S.'s have continuously had to stave off dry air and/or undercutting mid level (or easterly) wind shear. I'd be very surprised if this wave doesn't suddenly wake up on approach to the Islands or points west in the Caribbean where conditions have been more favorable.

Could be a sleeper system, but for now there's no model support.

The Euro picked up it while it was still looking pretty imposing a few days ago, so I'll be interested to see if it picks it up again as it gets further west into less hostile conditions a while from now. Euro seems to be getting a more decent grasp on waves than it usually does the last few days.

Colors of lost purpose on the canvas of irrelevance

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.
