It's amazing. I tracked three hurricane seasons (2000, 2001, 2002) with only one weakened U.S. hurricane landfall (Lili).

Now we're on hurricane #2 within ten days.

It may be just the radar but it almost doesn't look like there's an "eyewall" (another band of deep convection-oranges/yellows-closer to the center, one was visible from Charleston radar earlier when it was still a 60kt TS) anymore, but that band coming ashore looks like it means business.

Looks like it’ll slide by Myrtle Beach. Maybe Oak Island will be landfall. Seems to want to go more east

Data from an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft and NOAA
Doppler radars indicate that the maximum sustained winds associated
with Hurricane Isaias have increased to 85 mph (135 km/h) with
higher gusts. The minimum pressure measured by the plane was 988 mb
(29.18 inches).

NOAA buoy 41004 recent reported sustained wind of 67 mph (108 km/h)
and a gust to 78 mph (126 km/h) in the southwest eyewall of Isaias.

I think this is going to be a wild ride tomorrow for the big cities. I don't anticipate wind where I am but I'm charging all my devices just to be sure. Won't be able to work but I'll at least be able to read my Kindle and text!

Some of those inbound velocities to Wilmington radar are >120 mph. That is crazy.

3 years in a row for Hurricane landfall in NC. Florence, Dorian, soon to be Isaias. 4 of last 5 with Matthew in 2016. Reminding me of the mid to late 90s activity

Looks like it's going to try and pull a Bertha as it comes in. Ironically both were also heavily sheared to the point of weakening as they passed Florida as well.
