Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

Watch this one steal "Isaias" after PTC9 and its precursor wave has been practically Christened that name for the past week.

Have to say that already has the look of aTD. May well become a TD/storm before ptc9, though it's in an area where the NHC can afford to be conservative with upgrades to an extent.

Could be a CV threat maybe?

I remember working the 1995 season, which was VERY busy for the NE Caribbean. I looked at the satellite and saw what looked like a hurricane off the west coast of Africa that the NHC had not even mentioned in their 2-day outlook. Next thing you know, the NHC was mentioning a TS had formed with a "cloud-free central area" (i.e., eye). They slowly strengthened it to a hurricane, which became major hurricane Luis that struck the NE Caribbean. Oops! If PTC Nine wasn't providing the distraction, the NHC would be mentioning it.

Not mentioned in the 2pm TWO which is a little surprising. The wave clearly has a good amount of mid-level rotation and decent conditions ahead of it for the next day or so. The GFS does develop this slightly but dissipates it after passing the islands.

Wouldn't even look at long range GFS forecasts

Definitely surprised that it didn't even get mentioned- there seems to be enough potential for development (as short-lived and ineffectual as it may be) for it to be noted. As others have already said, I suspect it would've were it not for the forecaster's nightmare that is 92L stealing the spotlight and the NHC's attention.

Weird. Might have to put out a special outlook if it keeps organizing; doubt it has a LLC just yet but I don't see why it couldn't briefly do so which makes the lack of mention a little surprising. Obviously not a big deal compared to PTC9 but still

Seriously we aren't even out of July yet and storms are spinning up right off the coast! What will the next 3 months bring?

Yeah there have been numerous system that were either missed or underestimated due to other canes/systems grabbing the spotlight.

Sure has the look of a Td/TS already.

Indeed, looks very similar to Hanna when it was a low end TS with that lopsided look.

How does this area not even get mentioned?

It obviously has something going on at the surface too.

I believe today's UKmet develops this several days from now way out in the central atlantic.

My eyes are actually on the wave at 13n 35w, another large one. The models are starting to hint at something here in a few days nearing the NE Caribbean

1995 was like an oasis in the desert. After many, many slow years it was incredible to be assaulted with such a busy season
