GOM Closed Low from Atlantic

#1 Postby KatDaddy » Wed Oct 29, 2003 7:27 am

From Brownsville AFD

BOTH THE GFS AND ECMWF TRY TO PULL AN 5H CLOSED LOW
FROM THE WESTERN ATLANTIC AROUND THE SOUTHERN EDGE OF THE 5H RIDGING
INTO THE CENTRAL GULF OF MEX BY 00Z 11/05 WHICH PRODUCES A BROAD
SWATH OF CONV OVER THE GULF WATERS BY THE MID PORTION OF NEXT WEEK.
THIS FEATURE IS EVENTUALLY SHEARED OUT DUE TO THE CONTINUE LARGE 5H
TROFFING OVER CENTRAL PORTION OF THE LOWER 48 STATES. THIS WOULD
TEND TO LIMIT MUCH OF A WX IMPACT ALONG THE LOWER TX COASTLINE FOR
THE MOMENT. HOWEVER... WILL MONITOR FUTURE LONG RANGE MODEL RUNS TO
SEE WHAT OTHER SOLUTIONS CROP UP IN THESE AREAS.

GFS and MRF showing low moving across GOM next 5-8 days
