With Douglas looking to landfall in Hawaii just hours after the Texas landfall of Hanna the question came to my mind....
Have two different storms had landfall in a 24 hour period ever in the US?

T.S. Bonnie and Hurricane Charley (2004) not only made landfall in the U.S. within 24 hours of each other, but did so in the same state (Florida).
I don't believe it has ever happened with two storms of hurricane strength before. Of course, it remains to be seen whether Douglas' center actually will made landfall on one of the Hawaiian Islands at hurricane strength.

It's certainly happened in Mexico recently, with Ingrid and Manuel making landfall from the Gulf and Pacific sides respectively in the same 24 hour period in 2013
Neither were hurricanes at the time though; would be an interesting thing to look into

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.
