Re: Texas Winter 2019-2020
Videos on social media from Midland area on east show some huge flakes. Also snowing well in Abilene after lots of sleet overnight. I feel better watching their videos at least. lol

Re: Texas Winter 2019-2020
Models did a decent job with temps but were really bad when it came to QPF....most had anywhere from .25 to over an inch for DFW just 2 days ago. Not even 1/10 inch so far. Dry slot was not picked up by most forecasts
Ice storm potential looks to be increasing for the southern plains late next week

37 in Tyler with continuous rounds of storms passing by. If only a tad colder, though with the warm nose that would mean tons of ice so guess not.

Glad you’re getting some stuff today Yukon! I know you’ve been waiting for some good snow.
Thanks! Although we didn’t get the 10-12” that was forecasted, it’s snowing really hard again and it’s actually turned into a pretty legit snow. Probably around 4-4.5” now.

Glad your snow drought is ending in fine fashion!
Lots of glum people in north central Texas today. So close, yet so far.

I have family in the Midland/Odessa area, they have flooded FB with pics and said 5.5" to 6" average across the area.

I sure did not expect this much heavy rain. Looks like it may end soon though.

Mid 40s and misty drizzle in Houston. Just more worthless cold. I notice that each run of the GFS has a completely different long-range solution. "Icemageddon" that it had been forecasting later this month is gone from the 12Z GFS.

Re: Texas Winter 2019-2020
Local media reports 8-9 in Midland/Odessa and almost a foot in Snyder. This is the biggest storm out there in a long time.
Edit to add: I was curious, so I looked and it looks to be the biggest storm there since 2012.

12z Euro is very wet with a cold stormy look towards the end of the run. I think Texas still has several winter wx events left to track this winter.

I am not a meteorologist. Anything posted by me should not be taken as an official forecast. Get your information from respected sources such as NWS and NOAA. I get my weather information the same way Hank Hill does ..... I look out the window and say ... "YUP".

Are the flurry chances still in the forecast for this evening? Just got off work about to pick up daughter from school so I haven't had a chance to look.

Hey STORM2K'ers could I get a great big Happy "SNOW" Birthday for my daughter Alyssa. She turned 13 today and hoped it would snow. She is so excited. Give her a like and a shoutout.

That is so awesome! Happy birthday to Alyssa! What an incredible birthday gift!
Also, happy National Weatherperson’s Day! Today we celebrate the birthday of John Jeffries, one of the nation’s first weather observers. Be kind to your meteorologist friends today

That's awesome! I was a month shy of my 13th birthday when it snowed about 14 inches in San Antonio. Perfect birthday gift!

Happy Birthday Alyssa! Congratulations!
