NBC weatherman doubling down on this NOT being a big event for WF. Hope he’s wrong but rare for a veteran to double down the way he has two nights in a row.

Temps are still running 2 or 3 degrees below hi res models though the dew points are pretty close to HRRR so still not sure how much difference it will make.

I’m starting to turn my focus to the late afternoon/early evening potential for some snow. I know it may not accumulate but that’s a great time to just be able to watch the peacefulness of snowfall and being able to enjoy it.

I agree that is the prime time for snow in DFW.

Yes I’ve actually been paying close attention to that weekend since it came into the model. That’s the 3 day weekend I mentioned last week that I’ll be camping with some friends.

For many days in a row of runs you can see a front coming in anywhere from like Thursday till Sunday but then other runs it hasn’t come through yet, but you can see it up to the north.

This run however has me a little bit worried if it were to verify. Not sure the wife would be a big fan of the low 20s or the potential massive ice/snow storm it shows building

Last time we tried this in February it snowed. Not sure I’m buying into any of it at all, but If it happens again, you’re welcome

DP is stuck at 32 with temp 38. The NWS will probably prove correct with no surprises unless it starts dropping fast. The precip shield also is quite far west.

What’s interesting about this is that even though the storm that’s catching everyone’s eye right now is at hour 300, the ingredients needed to create this setup start coming together much sooner. Rising pressures near Alaska can be seen as early as hour 114, and this feature is present on every prior gfs run, even back to the point that it comes into the 16 day timeframe. The storm itself is a fantasy at this point, but the pattern that fosters it does seem to have some consistency.

We seemed to be busted by some warmer air in Wichita Falls. Still freezing rain and sleeting currently and looking like we are not going to get nearly as much snow as forecast.
