With no trends looking good I expect a disappointment. Maybe I can get a little sleet in north FW. But, I’ve been here enough to know that wishing against the models is foolish. I AM excited we will see a good winter storm even if it doesn’t impact us much.

Even if the front is ahead of schedule I expect us to get screwed with WAA being stronger.

What a giant waste apparently we still can't get winter storms here and I absolutely hate the gfs all those runs for days and days absolutely dead wrong. Like why even bother looking at it

But I knew when the Euro kept showing rain too..

The latest NAM shows point soundings for Decatur and Bowie to be 33 and 31 ish respectively. On WUnderground the current readings are about 41 and 39 ish. Is this because Decatur and Bowie are at a higher elevation and sitting in the warm nose?

Normally I agree, but there’s usually one model showing something promising if that occurs—nada this time.

I've gotta make some staffing decisions tomorrow  I should bring in extra people Wednesday anyway with a cold rain forecast, but if schools cancel.... Yikes!!

I'm not anticipating anything frozen impacting the roads in Dallas during the day or dinnertime Wednesday and I think I'm going to put my money on that call. More concerned about Thursday morning if anything.

I'm calling in one extra insider and one extra driver to help with the business spike expected from cold rain. Not biting on the snow/ice scenario here in North Dallas. That would require Super Bowl type staffing.... And I just don't see it happening.

Typically when I bring in extra people the weather doesn't materialize and when I ignore the forecast we get wrecked by unexpected weather. So we'll see.

Yikes. Well, that I think ends any hope for DFW. Congrats to WF though. They have been long overdue as well.

I'm siding with the NWS on this where FTW & Dallas will be the dividing line on freezing precip. .50" of freezing rain/sleet for eastern Tarrant with higher amounts as you move NW, and from DTW FTW to the west and NW you have a better chance for some of the precip to transition to snow for maybe a .10" with a cold rain mixed with sleet for points east of the airport and hwy 181.

Tarrant county may have some major travel problems wednesday while Dallas will be in the good. Also the front has move through DTN FTW, it was 61 when I left the house, got to work and the N/NW wind is gusty and a 10 degree temp drop, so the front is still ahead of the forecast by several hours

Models struggle with temps and cold, when you get these events its usually a surprise

We're still in a "believe it when we see it" situation here in WF. We've been scorned so much over the last couple of years that we're not going to get ahead of ourselves just yet. Currently 36 degrees. Feels like 30.

Looks like a Big Cold Rainy but with the heavy precip it wouldn't take but 30 minutes of frozen precip to change things in Dallas. Winter hopes :cold:

The rain is beautiful this morning. It was beautiful last night too. I’m very glad it’s not dry and not hot.

Just like our temps...... :spam:

All sarcasm aside the chance is still there from what I was seeing on the local weather this morning. More likely we may not but it's not zero. Crazy how just 25-50 miles can make all the difference
