Bold statement with still a little over a month to go. We could still see 1 or 2 named storms. I wouldn't raise the white flag just yet.

Nah.. I think if we get a November storm it will be a Gulf Coast 1 cause it will form in the Caribbean or Gulf of Mexico

November 2001, Michelle hit Cuba as a devestating category 4. Killed 17 people in the entire Caribbean, and did 5 billion dollars damage. The Florida Keys and SE Florida got lucky. 34 days to go......

You're right about Michelle. She came very close to the Florida coast. I remember. We have had a lot of near misses since Erin in 1995.

Erin was the last hurricane to directly hit Central Florida {unless Gabrielle was but it has never been known as a cane just a 70mph TS}

We've been struck with a bunch of TS since then. {Erin}

I remember Gabrielle. It was my first Hurricane Season here in Central Florida. The storm was the strongest to tropical cyclone I experienced in the Sunshine State.

The center of Gabrielle past not too far northwest of Orlando, if I am not mistaken.

I am about 80 miles (in a straight line) northwest of Orlando.

You are right Tom.. I'm just south of Orlando and Gabrielle slaughtered us here.. I had a lot of cleanup after her.
