GFs shows a mix of moisture and cold air at the end on 12z. Possible event? :froze: :double:

Ensembles seem to be picking up on a big system coming out of the SW around Christmas, too bad there won't be any cold air.

Yep, but hopefully it will bring us our first widespread soaking rain event in months.

What a beautiful day today here in Southeast Texas!! 75 degrees, no humidity, clear blue skies, a very light breeze — it doesn’t get much better than this! A good day to drive around with the windows rolled down too.

I’ve been watching this system the past few runs of the GFS. Ejects from the Baja which is really far south, but it looks to cut sharp NE into New Mexico and into Kansas instead of ejecting ENE towards us. Not so optimistic about this system right now. Maybe the panhandle and parts of west TX will get something out of it, but I wouldn’t bank on anything yet this far out.

Even if that did happen there would be no accumulations because of the dry air

Just 8 short hours to our north, 5 to 7 inches of snow in Kansas City today and tomorrow. Will be a snowy Chiefs game this afternoon. Another day, another day living vicariously through another city. Hey, I can dream.

Lol the 6z GFS said my family would be driving into a legit winter storm as we get to DC. Then the 12z was like "Eh, maybe a bit of rain?"

Haven't been paying much attention to this cold front, given that it will be mostly dry for DFW. However, currently 48F in Graham and 78F in Alvarado!

The artist formerly known as aggiecutter is now aggiecutter1. Portastorm had me impeached from this board, but it was voted down in the Senate. As a matter of fact, there are a couple FBI agents watching my house as I type this.

Front is through DFW, at least it will feel like winter for a few days this week.
