Convection firing north of Cancun associated with a LL Vort.
Forecasted conditions look good next 24 hrs.
Saturated air column thru the troposphere with little shear and an anticyclone.
Starts to pick up shear on approach to the coast but as we saw last week TCs tend to push shear out of the way this time of year.
Theory is that the upper troposphere is cooling off allow deeper convection to fire.
Stay tuned for updates.

Re: Another GOM System
Strong UL Low south of the convection. Looks like it'll break away from it.

Re: Another GOM System
Still no support for development by the models before the vortex comes ashore over LA on Wednesday, just more tropical rains for the north central gulf coast before a strong front passes through on Thursday.

Salute!
Yeah, the New Orleans wx folks are calling for a "wave" about mid week. And those folks have been leading the pack WRT tropical wx since I can remember from the 50's, no kidding.
We may get some rain here in the Panhandle, but we are cooling off and finally getting into "fall" wx.
