I am making the discussion thread for the upcomming missions that are slated for Friday to have discussions about the data and leave the main recon thread to the posting of the observations.
Is this the first time planes go to a Hurricane around 40W?

Re: ATL: LORENZO - Recon Discussion
It's been a while, but it has happened before. Hurricane hunters did fly into Hurricane Carrie '57 around 00Z September 8th and recorded a 945 mb pressure. Carrie was at 17.4, 42.9W at the time, a very similar location to where Lorenzo is now.
