I haven't seen anything to alleviate my concerns of a core rainfall event near and just south of the center. Current radar signature already looks somewhat ominous to be honest. Once the outer bands die down a little with the loss of daytime heating, look out. Could be some 9+" totals according to CAMs.

Chris in 2000 was a tropical storm officially for just one six-hour position.

About 1.25" of rain so far in SW Houston. My yard is just about watered. Bird feeder pole fell over because I could only hammer it in about 2 inches last week. Now, it easily slid a foot into the ground. ;-)

Imelda's center is just south or me. Zero wind (not a wind event) and light rain in SW Houston. Heavier rain is to my south and southeast, it may pass mostly to my east.

Yes, The core/center is really starting to rear its ugly head. Some crazy rainfall rates are showing-up now. It's gonna be a long night.

I'm afraid 9" may be conservative.

Disagree on wind event. I just had sustained 40 gusts to 48...stupid fence blew down. I have had about 2,5 inches.

Yeah I have thought about that. Tonight might be something if we get into a feeder band.

They've always said not to turn your back on thunderstorms over the Gulf in September.

Brazoria County getting pounded rightnow. Heavy rain moving into Southern/Southeast Harris County (city of Houston).

Where are you exactly? I'm getting nothing but sprinkles in NW Houston. The boards on my fence still have dry spots.

Not far from downtown here. Been raining all day off and on. Not a lot of rain so far. About an inch.

Has the storm slowed down? I caught a bit of Channel 2 weather at 6 p.m. and that was the impression I was left with.

It seemed to stall, but it was just a loop. Just made another jog north. It may be up to downtown Houston in a few hours at this rate. Lots of "what if's" with this one. Not behaving like the models projected. It may stall...or it may not. Who knows at this point...it's really a nowcasting situation.

It was supposed to be north of Conroe at noon tomorrow, so maybe it's a little quicker than the models had it going. I hope so anyway.

What a difference a few miles makes. Imagine if this had a few more hours or even a day over water.

Triangle area and north of that where I am are not getting anything now. Are we expecting this to increase overnight and cause us some problems?
