Disturbed weather in GOM (Is INVEST 98L)

TX,LA, and AR residents need to monitor this wave. I'm seeing 24" of rainfall dumped into AR in the last 12 hours of the run after several days of the wave meandering the coast. Slow mover and copious amounts of rainfall with this one, TX & LA Coastal region expecting 10-15" rainfall. Idk what the ICON is sniffing on but that is a lot of moisture.

There is a small anti-cyclone along the coast, east of Houston.

Eh, I dunno. The graphic you posted doesn't show those totals in the area you stated. The higher totals look to stay just off shore and well north of the coastal regions.

Well technically this whole entire area is called the gulf coastal plains but When I wrote coastal regions I was just meaning the coast. And I'm pretty sure I see 24" of rainfall in Arkansas.

Disorganized showers and thunderstorms over the northwestern Gulf of
Mexico are associated with a broad area of low pressure. Some slow
development of this system is possible before it moves inland along
the northwestern Gulf coast Tuesday tonight or Wednesday. Regardless
of development, this system is expected to produce locally heavy
rainfall along portions of the central and upper Texas coastal areas
later this week.

Still blue and partly cloudy skies here in Houston. Looks like as everything gets close to the city, it just fizzles out...for now.
Grey here in New Orleans. It's dark toward the southwest, but I don't think we picked up a drop of rain downtown.

It's definitely started graying up here in the last hour. I think they call them clouds. We haven't seen them since June.
Can someone explain why it isn't really moving that much right now?

Still looks like a trof axis. Convection appears to have decreased over the past few hours. I still think it has a better chance of developing over the next 24-36 hrs than 97L does in 48 hours.
