Holy cow. I just listened and it sounds absolutely terrifying.

Could you please post a link? I'm sorry if it's already been posted; I did a quick search and turned out empty handed. Thank you in advance!

Wind slacking off, you can actually hear the ocean now, sounds like they eye is now moving over Frying Pan.

Honestly, looked like more of a wobble to me. Last 2 frames looked NNW.

Obligatory “I’m not a met and it could be the whiskey talking”. Hope our weather fam on the Carolina coast is doing okay. We’re bracing for it on the SVA Eastern Shore.

Will the flag still be flying when daylight breaks.

Yep, new flag, reinforced. Steve will survive. Kevin was auctioned off to help raise money to repair the platform, I suspect Steve will as well.

That's about as close as you can be the landfall without actually doing so. Wilmington has been in the eyewall for a bit now, they must be getting quite a hit.

Wilmington actually is a good 25 miles from the eyewall at least. Jim Cantore is at Kure Beach and he isn’t even in it, maybe the outer edges.

I have never heard of the frying pan ocean cam. Is it a place to go to or is it a buoy?

Scroll back a few posts or search for it on YouTube. It's an old coastguard platform / lighthouse to warn ships of shallow waters. It was sold to a private individual who runs it as a bed and breakfast.

That close pass really did a number on it. It will be back over open water soon, so we'll see if it can blow up again.
