Yep, new flag, reinforced. Steve will survive. Kevin was auctioned off to help raise money to repair the platform, I suspect Steve will as well.

That was... terrifying at times. Lord have mercy! Now somehow subdued... Was /is that the eye?

That's about as close as you can be the landfall without actually doing so. Wilmington has been in the eyewall for a bit now, they must be getting quite a hit.

Wilmington actually is a good 25 miles from the eyewall at least. Jim Cantore is at Kure Beach and he isn’t even in it, maybe the outer edges.

That close pass really did a number on it. It will be back over open water soon, so we'll see if it can blow up again.
