SE side of the core has very light precip. Dry air and shear are to blame.

This is the most classically structured Hurricane I've seen come up this way in the 20 years I've lived here. Holding together and seems to be laughing at the sheer. Most storms up this way the eye is already clouded by now.

If that were the case case the precip wouldn't suddenly appear at the coast as it rotates into view. There's definitely some sheer, but radar would still pick precip up if it were in range.

I don’t believe that the radar can’t penetrate through.

Looks like convection is trying to deepen around the core again. Must've found a patch of warm water.

Yesterday, I think, someone posted asking for those inclined to pray, to pray for those about to feel Dorian's wrath. With much work to do (I am a teacher), I have not had time to post, but I prayed right then, and several times throughout the day and night, yesterday and today. To those who feel alone: be encouraged that you are not alone in your prayers. I know this may not matter to all, but I think it may matter for the person who asked for prayers. I know many other Floridian friends of mine continue to pray that the other states are granted a measure of the grace we have been granted.

Pressure down 5mb then? That's quite the drop this close to the coast.

That's about as close as you can be the landfall without actually doing so. Wilmington has been in the eyewall for a bit now, they must be getting quite a hit.

I'm still listening (it's dark) to the frying pan ocean cam, expecting the eye to move over it any time now.

Could you please post a link? I'm sorry if it's already been posted; I did a quick search and turned out empty handed. Thank you in advance!
