Why would someone want to drink a liquid that makes them feel awful, say things they wouldn't otherwise say and/or get among all things a hangover the next day??
Because it's fun!!!

Seriously, you do "feel good" when you're drinking and more relaxed - in moderation, of course!

I have fun without "having to drink beer."
Even in moderation, something is happening with it and the human body which can lead to problems.
Out of my parents and four siblings, only two out of the seven of us have ever drank alcohol, my father and oldest brother.
Also, the worse thing to drink when it is hot and humid is beer. People enjoy "relaxing in hot sun with a beer."

I LOVE being the designated driver! A few of the bars give DD's free Diet Cokes. I get to drive some awesome cars. And I get to take good looking people home and put them to bed.
(And, yes, I only mean that I put them to bed...nothing more.)
I drink once in a blue moon...but usually Kahlua and milk, which is pretty tame (and too darned expensive!). Can't stand beer. Not big on hard liquor. Wine is only good with a meal, but I prefer to have something I can really drink like water or Diet Pepsi. You can only sip wine, so it's not good for me.
And I'm ashamed to say that I know the date of the first and last time I ever got intoxicated...July 4, 2003...at age 35...in the company of people I trusted to remain sober and get me home safe (although I had originally sworn that I would not get drunk until Osama Bin Laden was declared dead). We wanted to find out if I was a grumpy drunk, a happy drunk, an affectionate drunk, or what. I'm a sleepy drunk.
So, that won't happen again. I prefer to stay in control...and awake.
What I can't understand is why people like to burn something and then breathe in the smoke.

Did you hear this one?
Yesterday, upon the stair, I met a little man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today.
I wish, I wish, he'd go away.
This one spooks my kids!!!
