Very summer like rains out here. Some wind, lots of thunder and lightning but limited severe. Feels like the summer storms you'd get in the northern US in the warm season.

Power out here in Irving. And right in the middle of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. The big stuff is still to come.

Storms did get wider and a bit stronger. Mainly just wind for severe though. Nice. Probably another inch on the way. I just don’t see models with 3-4 inches though. Moving too fast.

Power still out and getting warm in here. The rain cooled wind is helping with the windows open. What's worse is my beer is getting warm.

Grass and foliage is so green still. This will only keep it so. Just go back to the past summer thread (2011 in particular) and see how brown/yellow it was..

Just started pouring at the house. Wind and rain. Thought I heard thunder earlier, but not currently. Dog isn’t reacting so must not be any thunder...

Just some perspective.

DFW monthly average to date is a little over 79F which is running -1.7F below normal.
Birmingham is 78F which is +1F above normal for the month.
Atlanta is 77F which is about normal for the month.

All three cities have seen comparable dew points. DFW is running a bit over 4" of rain while the other two are over 6".

In essence much of the central and northern half of the state is experiencing a typical southeast US June (early summer).

I'm traveling to Houston and Beaumont tomorrow for work. I'll be doing some site visits around town and one site in Beaumont, so I will be mostly in the car and outside walking around. I keep hearing mixed news about it could dry out some or there could be locally heavy downpours with leftover mesoscale boundaries.

I figure I'll take a raincoat and umbrella with me in whatever case to be prepared, with plastic sheeting covering my notes/phone while I take pics, hoping for breaks in the rain. Seems like the forecast for Houston changes hourly. 20 percent means 2" downpour. 50% means partly sunny.lol Never know. I have all the sites to visit on my phone, trying also to figure traffic, but that's also a crapshoot.lol Anyway. Any advice from the SE Texas locals on here? I'll have the radar going during my visits. ;)

I'm eyeballing some heavy rain/storms to my west. Looks like we may get dumped on in a while, unless it fizzles out.

I have to agree, the severe element was the winds which blew through my place with some 40+ gust. The rain was nice, not very heavy though, but the thunder and lightening was pretty good. The main part of the storm pushing down across Tarrant Co went east of me, so did the strongest winds.

Pouring in SA now too! Awesome!

Still no signs of any heat ridge through early July. I love it!

83° at DFW. Humidity still high obviously but the temp is agreeable. Upper 80's to lower 90's for the next several days.
