18z 3k NAM back to some storms moving into DFW overnight but not as impressive as the overnight runs but more than the nothing that 12z showed. However, the HRRR still shows basically nothing across Texas overnight.

enhanced risk up for the northern DFW metro and a slight elsewhere, we actually have models(and TV forecasts) agreeing on an MCS late tomorrow night for the metroplex that may be a very slow mover once it arrives and a prolific rain producer

it appears during the day most of the activity should stay in Oklahoma

HRRR on board now too for tonight. Have a shot at getting in top ten wettest Junes tho still require about 3 and 1/3 inches. 3.63 at airport so far...

Feels like one of the Top Ten Steamiest Junes :-)

Convective mode is still questionable across DFW but surface winds are kicking. It feels like a SVR wx day.

Driving back from Colorado Springs today. Snow just west of us in the pass. It was in the mid 40's this morning. Pikes Peak got more snow. It's summer, right? Anyhow dropping down through Amarillo to Wichita Falls then back to the Denton area. GPS says 6ish arrival time. Might slow up to let the storms pass, could see some pretty cool storms along the way. About to be back in Texas from NM. Will try to be eyes on the ground and post if my wife is driving.

At Joe Pool Lake for my b-day and the wind is about to ruin this picnic. Regardless, about to fire up the grill and pop open a cold one. Not much sun and am watching the radar from time to time checking for storms. Should be able to get some lake fun in before it gets wet.

That is a brutal drive. Made it last year from Cooper Mt to Dallas in one shot.

We make it non stop too. Made a Costco run in Colorado Springs so we are good on water and snacks.

It's so flat here, especially after being in the mountains for a week. :(

Currently, there are little storms popping, but they die after a few radar frames. I think the big show is still tonight.

In the last 72 hours, KAUS has had 6 hours total with a dew point below 75 (they were all still above 70).

Seeing some pretty big clouds out east of me. Flat anvils with tops punching through. I see they are svr warned. We are coming down on 287 about 2.5 from Wichita Falls.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch up til 10pm

I'm gonna guess the stuff about Wichita Falls is the beginning of the big event tonight for the metroplex

Had smoker going this afternoon when my oldest asked if the rain was going to hurt anything? I was like what? Look out and it was pouring, some as we got the smoker moved out of the rain it stopped, back to sunny and hot. :ggreen:

It is starting to come together. I'm guessing around 8 o'clock we should see some action. I don't think the decreasing daylight will be an issue. Still plenty hot and humid. I wonder if HockeyTx82 is driving through this?

The storms don’t look that impressive. Kicking out outflow as well.

Hey all, stopped in Wichita Falls. I slowed up with the kids and wife. Seeing major mammatus clouds and dark skies. I was driving thus why I have not checked in. Just called the NWS in FWD, sounds like it not quit as bad as it was so going to make a go to Bowie, Decatur then 380 East. Lots of of lighting.
