Its October folks...

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but no matter how hard you wish or should I say guess that Nick will make it across its not going to happen its nearing Nov now and there is not a snowball chance in hell that a TS or Cane originating in the E Atlantic will make it across to affect the Islands let alone the US...The troughs are simply to strong and constant. He may hang for a fews days longer and Then old St Nick will head back to the poleward to suffer his death...

Destruction5 - yes, it would be nearly impossible for any storm in mid-October (or later) to reach the U.S. coastline that originates east of the islands. But I will still keep an eye on it, as it has been a strange season.

In terms of having something to follow in the tropics, as most of us enjoy doing here... it would be considered bad news for Nicholas not to develop and move further westward than is expected.

As far as a tropical system making it to the United States, it has happened plenty of times, obviously not common from the eastern Atlantic in mid to late October and November, but chances still exist for a tropical cyclone to develop closer to the United States, that may affect the at least one coastline.

I know it was over 50 years ago....But they that was the scenario that people apparently forgot to tell Hazel - 1954.

So you can never say never until a storm makes that NE turn into the Tropical Graveyard.
