Our more prominent local met is honest to a fault about this system! lol He says that this is one of the most difficult forecasts he has been involved with due to the models being all over the place. I couldn't imagine having to publicly release a forecast based on all the wackiness these models are giving us!

same reason some of us were very bitter about people down south getting snow last year... because it wasnt us.

What's interesting is that people think it snows all the time in Oklahoma, BUT, here in Tulsa and the Ozarks...we haven't had a Winter Storm Warning in 1,360 days. Things have been pretty depressing in NE OK and SW MO. It's so hard to predict snow, but Fallin declaring a state of emergency was laughable...now OK may end up with nothing!

I've been rather convinced of a decent snow in OK for days but now I'm having doubts for sure... never have thought DFW was really in it for real snow, but who knows now tbh with the way the models are all over the place

I just know they average way more snow than Dallas but it seems they've fallen into this stupid snowless rut too.

GFS has warmest high 63F. That is hardly much of a warm up at all. We may finish December with another below month!

I need to recant this statement to 3rd month. I double checked again and it looks like September had a post analysis bump up to +0.1...

Well if it makes you feel better August was below normal . If December makes it then we'll have 6 months this year below normal which is half!

OK, I feel better now since you put it that way. :D Kidding aside, I do think December will be close unless the end of the month can drop the averages a bit. Regardless it has been a great year for below average months.

Amarillo gets virtually nothing again. Midland/Odessa went from nothing to now snow in the span of 24-36 hours from the NAM.

Oklahoma City basically shut out on the NAM

these models are insane  This is the same NAM that had 29" for Oklahoma City last night

and again the snow is evaporating as it heads for DFW

Temps aloft are colder this run. I feel like the NAM is drying things out too quickly considering the dynamic nature of this storm.

There is better wrap around moisture than what the NAM sees.

Since hardly anyone is posting on the SE winter thread, how are the models looking for Charlotte? I'm really concerned about ice.

NAM does suck on precip but it is great for Arctic air and winter upper lows.
