Not really any support for that from the Euro EPS and the Op Euro has been pretty crap beyond 5 days lately. The EPS does favor a cold and wet 1st week of December.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Generally tranquil weather can be expected over the next several days. Enjoy the nice weather, and of course, all of the wonderful time you get to spend with friends and family!

Hoping for wet weather to return by December!

Brent, i think we will have to wait until mid December or later for our opportunity. Not sure if its the mjo or just climatology that dont favor a cold pattern right now. I still believe it will be pacific driven when we get cold

00z Euro showing 3-5" of rain across DFW, that would be a nice push towards the record.

Bubbahotep, why isnt the pattern lining up for cold weather, despite the -nao/ao? What do we need to see to start getting excited? I thought the Scandinavian ridge would get things setup for us? Im just confused

November & December -NAO events aren't always cold for Texas, in fact they avg out pretty close to normal temp. Texas tends to look colder during -NAO events in JFM. Obviously, that is a simplistic view of the matter with so many moving parts.

Yep +PNA is not good for cold around here especially early in the season. It shunts things east.

November has been nice temp wise. Once December hits cold and snow must happen or I get irritable and antsy. From what I have read and heard, this winter should be the cure for all the backed up angst, delivering a refreshing feeling of pure winter heaven quickly followed by an easy feeling of invincibility and pride, knowing that more is to follow. Can't wait.

its definitely been nice being cooler than normal and not constantly researching the record highs in danger like past years

But yeah, theres a lot of hype for this winter and I'm ready to get it going.

Want to see another day of model runs but if Strat PV holds tight then MJO might be forcing a warm up in 2nd week of December.
