I still think Clinton and Carter's action seem to reflect poorly on them not on President Bush. If they disapproved the proper thing to do would have been for them not to say anything. :?

I expected more from President Carter... nothing Slick Willie does surprises me.

Hey Southerngale...I saw that whole interview with Brian Kilmeade last night on Hannitty & Colmes.....I didn't know he had it in him but she had egg all over her face.

I think if they disagree then they should say smthg if they agreed they shouldn't say anything, because they would just be saying more of the same.

The whole tradition for keeping silent when former Presidents disagree is meant to preserve the dignity and the power of the Office of the President. In this instance it is far more important than their personal opinions. Because of their former positions they have that responsibility that you and I don't.

Or at least not say anything publicly! I suppose if they truly thought we were all in imminent danger, they could have figured out a way to speak to President Bush privately instead of to an international audience!
