Gulf Stream proves useless once again...I think the Atlantic might have environmental support issues this year...Isaac is in a prime formation area at a prime time and is sputtering...Tomorrow we'll see if surge is the threat over wind...

Yeah, I think it’s been obvious that the tropical Atlantic and into the Caribbean has been hostile all year. With the shear and all that Saharan dust that affected SSTs. Beryl and Isaac just found brief sweet spots to intensify.

It has been misquoted. It was quoted as a storm of a lifetime for some areas in the Carolinas.

Hurricanes near the EC always seem to struggle with structure. Think Isabel, Hanna '08, Irene, Matthew and Sandy (though the latter was disrupted by Cuba). As a result, some of these end up growing larger instead of stronger.
Isaac is entering the "Caribbean graveyard".

It matters a lot. A larger wind field is very bad. At this point, it isn't wind speeds that matter. There's going to be plenty of devastation.

Well not if you live in the same place for a long time, that's what that implies to me. They are talking regionally.

Plus, "my storm is bigger than your storm" is the last thing we need right now.
