A Bitter Cold Winter Ahead?

#1 Postby azskyman » Tue Oct 14, 2003 9:36 am

Well, the Chicago Cubs, playing with the wind blowing in on a chilly and damp night tonight, have a chance to control the weather even more.

For as you know, Hell will freeze over if the Cubs win tonight or tomorrow against the Marlins and go to the World Series.

It will be difficult for both teams to hit the long ball tonight at Wrigley as a north to northwest wind may not diminish much until the game winds down in the late innings.

Just wanted to remind all of you that the Cubs not only control their own destiny here...but also have much to do with determining just how cold the upcoming winter will be....

One more night like Tuesday night, and the winter will be a lot less frigid than we thought it might be.

Pressure is on the Cubbies, not the Marlins.

Touch spot for Kerry Wood to be in. But then again, he's been there before.

Steve - we were so utterly disappointed last night. Laura went to bed, when it was 3-0, Cubs. Thinking it was a done deal.....the pennant was a sure thing! Forgot to tell her how it all turned out at breakfast. Then she called from school before her first class this morning, I'm thinking she forgot something, and here she asks - Mom, did the Cubs win? That's my girl for you. And her forgetful Mother to boot, forgetting to tell her how the game turned out!!!! Yikes, I'm getting old.....needless to say she was disappointed too. Then I reminded her they can still win the pennant tonight! Fingers, eyes, arms, legs, toes are crossed......we're sure pulling for the Cubs......

Tonight's the night! Oh how I hope they win Steve.

Looks like a mild winter as Hell has to wait a year to freeze over.

Feel bad as a Cubs fan...worse for the fan involved in the missed Alou catch.

It was fun...very fun. Now I really believe the Marlins can beat the Yanks or Red Sox.

The sun'll come up tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar, there'll be sun.

Cept maybe in Chicago.

Now wait a minute Steve...it's the top of the 9th.....they still have a chance! But boy looking at all the fans' faces and then the players sitting in the Cub's dugout, says it all. Women openly crying, kids looking like they didn't get anything from Santa and men just sitting there - stunned. I'm stunned here in Cincy - thought it was a done deal.....what a letdown. Wait a minute....we still have a chance, what I said before... LOL

And now we're heading to the bottom of the 9th....do or die. Oh, the suspense.

The bitter cold winter has been cancelled, unless the Red Sox win tonight.
