Worst storm of your life (SO FAR)?
What was the worst storm you have ever been in? Since I live in NE Ohio, I do not get category 5 hurricanes. Yet, my worst storm was Isidore. I had so much rain and winds I'd say gusting to 45 mph. So, what was your worst storm?

Hurricane Hugo, hands down.
SF
Floyd, because it took me 5.5 hours to go from Goose Creek, SC to Columbia. That is normally a 1.75 hour trip max. I never thought I would see I-26 turned into a parking lot. I missed Hugo SF. I been a lucky guy.

Based on that traffic snarl up (partly caused by the evacuations from further south as well, among poor decisions from the ex-governor), it was decided that there would be no evacuations from the area.

West Central Florida has not seen a bad storm in a very long time! But I would have to say that Elena 1985 would be the most destructive storm to threaten my area. Even though she never came ashore we saw massive beach destruction as well as inland flooding. We had many families in the area that lost everything they had!
