Subtropical storm?

#1 Postby btangy » Fri Oct 10, 2003 6:10 pm

Look off of Hatteras... there appears to be a subtropical storm trying to form. Has that look that the low is becomming disconnecting from its frontal band. Has a Dvorak classification of ST 1.5/1.5 . NHC should mention something about this system in their next TWO.

Interesting.

However, the WV imagery reveal right now that it looks nothing more than a occluded low.

NHC did mention possible subtropical development. True it is an occluded low at this time but its got some organized convection and this needs to be watched for possible impact on New England or the Canadian Maritimes
