What is the NAM's reputation for this type of situation?

SREF Plume average is up to 3" for Longview and Texarkana with maxes around 6"

DFW average is about 3/4" with amounts increasing to 1.5" in the southeast part of the metroplex

It still way overdone on the Arctic HP initialization so not sure how much credibility you put into it at this point....Canadian and Euro seem to be handling the initialization the best. They have a half inch to an inch snow accumulations across DFW

Busy talking to clients about potential travel issues across SE TX tomorrow (sleet/freezing rain mostly). Bridges & overpasses may ice up before noon.

That is also a misleading image without context. Cold temps don't require much qpf for snow. You can get a coating with 0.01" if the dendritic growth zone is efficient

NBC5's S-Band Radar seems to have some small rain echoes near Greenville and Sulphur Springs, which COULD mean the HRRR and x may be onto something. Radar watching vs. model projection time!

Just saw on the local forums that Winter Storm Warnings will be issued for all counties along I-10 and Northward for SE Texas. It's gonna be interesting! :froze:

Yeah, I agree...if majority snow and 15:1 ratios that is a solid 1-3 " across the Metroplex which is way above anything they're forecasting. But if half of that QPF is freezing rain/sleet, DFW will have even more travel issues on it's hands.

We won't know much until around 6-7pm when the more significant returns should begin showing up

Currently 54 degrees and dark outside in Dallas.

Work just said we are leaving in 45 minutes to hopefully beat some of the crazies home! Now hopefully enough snow/ice for a snow day tomorrow! :froze:

BTW wow lots of visitors today! I saw 208 visitors a little bit ago! Everyone's watching for the snow! :cold:
