Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!

#1 Postby StormCrazyIowan » Sun Oct 05, 2003 3:53 pm

It must be a fall thing, though I don't remember ever seeing them this bad- LADY BUG BEETLES EVERYWHERE!!!!!! When I go to my front door, I see them everywhere, at least 20 right on the door, and many more flying around! They aren't lady bugs, they are the look-alike beetles that bite!! Anyone else having a problem with these??

For several years in a row, about 5-ish years ago,
we had them, everywhere! They got in the
car, in the house...they were on the ceilings,
in the windows/curtains...you couldn't keep
them out! I think they've migrated, elsewhere,
now....Enjoy! ;)

LOL, I used to have red hair for
about 15 years...matched my green eyes
and light skin, perfectly....then, I got lazy
and let the dark brown/gray alias salt & pepper
return...Jeez...that's just an F.Y.I., ya'll...

Jacki, the only thing you can do is hope that they
move on, next year. You don't have enough
vacuum cleaner bags to keep them under
control...trust me....these things I know!

There were "tan lady bugs"-- called "pumpkin bugs" that showed up in eastern Massachusetts/southern New England every few years.

I believe they appeared in my area (in southern New England) in the autumn, too.

Yep, that's the ones, Tom - not red, but
orange-ish in color - rumour has it that the
paper companies turned them loose to
devour the insects that tended to kill the
trees used for paper production...?

There was a segment on The Weather Channel about 15 minutes ago (20 minutes past the hour) on "Lifestyles" about these beetles. They are called "Asian Lady Beetles."

I've been slowly painting our wood exterior windows for a week now. Today I was on the sunny side of the house and they were everywhere. Getting stuck in the paint, flying into my eyes. Landing on my glasses. Cute but after a while they're annoying.

LOL, Miss Mary - they're a torment! Cute, but,
the ones that got inside did not escape the wrath
of breeze's vacuum cleaner! :P

Back in the 60's, America was invaded by
"The Beatles"......

In 2003, America is invaded by "The Beetles"...

These beetles were all the place in Massachusetts back in the mid to late 1990's during the fall.
