Let's take a little humor break, shall we?

This is the first thing I think of when I hear the name of this storm:

Now, back to your regularly scheduled coverage of Hurricane Irma Gerd.

(Apologies if this was a bit tasteless.)

Checking in here in Port St Lucie, FL. Tons of tornado warnings around the area. I, surprisingly, still have power- but my lights have been flickering since around 9am this morning. Most people I asked that live near me have no power. Stay safe everyone!

Someone I know has parents currently in Varadaro and the reports ain't great. There were more than 200 people in the basement of their hotel after evacuations etc.. they have been there for more than 24hours and came out to a lot of devastation.
They were supposed to fly home 4 days ago but their flight was cancelled and then Irma decided to ride the coast longer than expected so they had a tough time.

Hopefully they will be flying home on Tuesday if all is ok and any debris etc.. is cleared up.

Damage was pretty bad.

Looks like everyone in the Margate area are out of power, but checking my cameras, somehow still have power.

Can anyone tell me what formula to use to extrapolate winds from velocity data at X beam height to the surface.
Example I am in Ocala using KTBW and want to know what the winds translate to at the surface. KTBW is roughly 90 miles from me.
Thank you.

Mayor of Margate messaged me via Messenger to ask if I was okay, I told him that I evacuated a while ago.

I think the hurricane is east enough on track to maybe take some heat off Sanibel Island...Coming right here...

Based on the data from Marco Island, I would set the landfall intensity at 105 kt (assuming a bit higher winds in the Everglades) and a pressure of 936mb.

Yea it seems it's gonna have to wobble quite a bit west to make the next forecast point
