Stephanie, I never doubted that you would support our troops. That was a grave mistake this country made in the Vietnam War, blaming our troops for our politicians failures. Politicians should decide when we go to war and then stay out of the way of the military professionals as we conduct the war.

We vote the politicians in.

Yes it was a very grave mistake to blame our troops for Vietnam when they were only doing their job. However, protesting that war was a patriotic thing to do just like it is now.

As I've said before I have no problem with people protesting the war as long as it's done within the confines of the law. :D I too served for 9 years to defend that right.

We do vote the politicians in and when they don't do what we think they should we have the right and responsibility to vote them back out of office.

War protesting is all well and good and in some peoples eyes deemed patriotic. But, when those war protestors are chanting Anti American, Anti Bush language then that is not patriotism.

Great point sunny shine! Calling the President a murderer and shouting support for Saddam is out of the realm of reason and only shows what idiots those people really are. These things always bring out the radical fringe on both sides. :grr:

Well said my sunny friend. If they want to preach peace...let them belt out a John Lennon tune like "Give Peace a Chance". That would be fine.

Patriotism is defined as beffiting or characteristic of a Patriot.
A Patriot is defined as: one who loves his or her country and supports its authority and interests.

End of debate!

There is no need for protesters to travel overseas in order to voice their opinion. These actions only aide our enemies and reflect poorly on those who choose to do so.

The people who have traveled to Iraq to act as human shields are at best mislead and being used by the Iraqi regime and at worst disloyal to the United Sates. JMHO

Marshall.... with that being said about human American shields in Iraq, the term treason comes to mind. Or traitors? They should have their United States citizenship stripped and forced to continue living in Iraq. JMO.

you would think that the very fact that Saddam is footing the bill for their hotel would give them a clue wouldn't you. Stuidity and misguided is probably more appropriate that treason at this point in time. however, if they stay once the war breaks out then you may have an arguement.

I guess that time will tell. I am sure they will continue to stay there even after the war breaks out. Hopefully, the United States will deal with them then.

Saddam... he will go to great lengths won't he? Too bad our own people have sided with this child killer.

Well just that there is a unwritten rule of respect that says former presidents shouldn't criticize sitting presidents. The fact that Clinton and Carter are openly opposed to Bush's Policies makes him look as if the nation is divided...and he doesn't know what he is doing.

While I believe you probably disagree with a lot of what he says, I do think a lot of people who attack Rush are attacking the messenger because they cannot attack his message. He makes excellent points and offers facts to back them up. If the facts don't support your argument, it's easier to just dismiss the whole argument altogether because Rush said it. I've heard a lot of liberals say, "Oh Rush is just a big fat idiot" but I don't recall hearing any of them challenge him on the facts.
