As long Larry sits in the same place models not good tool

#1 Postby cycloneye » Thu Oct 02, 2003 6:06 am

That is because the models may suggest a future track for larry in different directions like a spider but as long Larry doesn't move no track will be established as the steering currents are weak and the information that the models provide is not good to follow. But when Larry begins to move if it does at all then the models imput will be more important but as long it is at the same place in my case I dont follow them. And other scenario for Larry is that he may dissipate in that same area if it is for many days there due to cooling of the waters.

I would not be surprised to see Larry eat a gulp of cold dry air and fizzle out at this point. He is just sitting there waiting to get slapped with cold dry air, ala Isabel. The difference being this is not even closely structured as well as Isabel was.

Yes, if Larry sits and spins for too long in one place - upwelling could be the death of him. And any north movement will likely shear him to death. And any other movement could result in landfall, which would also cause him to dissipate. So my prognosis for Larry is that he needs a miracle to survive beyond day 5.

I totally agree, time and climatic changes are not on Larry's side. However, storms this year have been very tenacious.

Looks pretty sick and like many have said -- Larry doesn't have anywhere to go. It can't sit in the BOC forever.

TS Larry has gotta go somehow, he sounds more like a 'Couch Potato' storm to me.
