Re: Texas Summer 2017
It's still raining here in Southern Denton county. Definitely not as much as places north and east of here, but we seemed to have had enough lift to allow for a semi continuous propagation with a few breaks in rain since it first started earlier in the evening.

Re: Texas Summer 2017
Sounds like the rains we got early this week in Houston. I got 5.75" at my house in a little over 3.5 hours. We're already over 6" for August or actually were once the storms ended on the 8th.

Re: Texas Summer 2017
DFW airport is at 15.15" for the summer since June 1st. This is easily the wettest summer since 2007. Which is number 2 wettest at 16.99 trailing 2004 at 18.89" for JJA. To beat 2004 we would need 3.75" inches of rain the next 2 weeks.

Aggiecutter, you have certainly won the rain jackpot this summer. An impressive total all summer.

By the way, The Farmers Almanac winter outlook is out for those interested. I won't reveal anything here for those who have not read it, but several blizzards are predicted for North Texas. HA! Gotcha, just kidding.

Re: Texas Summer 2017
Fort Worth NWS posted a graphic earlier today showing the big rains yesterday afternoon, last night and early this morning.
The highest measurement was 9.04 inches just west of where I live. All in about a 12-hour period.
There was significant flooding in Sherman with 25 high water rescues early this morning.
Highway 75 was submerged several feet deep at Bearcat Stadium and there was two to three feet of water that flooded the stadium.
There were some first floor apartments near a creek in Sherman that had several feet of water in them.
