Agree BLP we need more runs..and at least a consensus of development from the models then we can hypothesis / debate future track. Right now even the GFS para is showing nada while it's brother blows up FL, entire Gulf coast and then floods central Texas. Awesome..

What is weird is all the others except the Navgem have shown it as well to some degree. So not exactly a textbook case of a phantom from the GFS.

00z cmc seems to shred any development through high forward speed?

The most epic model runs I've ever seen were all Euro model runs. Thinking of some of the Fiona runs, Sandy, typhoon Muifa 2011...

So I stayed up until 1AM to watch model support completely crumble for this GFS garbage ghost storm that decides to demolish FL, rival Katrina's storm surge on the Gulf Coast, and also flood central TX, all while being at already elevated tides due to the full moon on the 23rd, after the GFS is retired, they should play the model runs past 200hrs. in haunted houses

Haha. GFS model has been doing this with at least 10 storms (or non storms) per year for at least the last 20 years. If I`m bored by it, I can't even imagine how bemused the forecasters at NHC are. :D

If you're bored by model storms, do what I do, monitor the monsoon in the Subcontinent. Promising lots of really flooding rains! Or perhaps the MU is just needing a wholesale makeover...

The most important thing to watch is the short term evolution of the wave as the Lesser Antilles, Puerto Rico and Hispanola may be in the crosshairs if GFS is right. For now to my fellow members in the islands, watch what is going on and start the preparatons just in case the wave intensifies to a Tropical Cyclone late this week.

I can't stay up for the Euro, it's not worth staying up an extra hour and a half so I can watch a Low-Resolution frail Tropical wave scrape the South American Coastline

What I don't understand is how some of you stay up for these late night runs just to write them off.

Who knows maybe it could change and show a cat5 hurricane slam into Miami. Maybe it gets a hint of what the gfs is seeing.
