Could be a noisy morning for DFW per 3k NAM. It's also very wet tomorrow. One of the more interesting July 4ths in recent memory if true. Possibly another complex into Weds morning. An above average rainfall July is pretty much looking booked.



Just FYI the most rainfall recorded at the airport on July 4th is 3.20" set one year ago.

That is one of the better looking complexes pointed towards DFW in a while. I hate when this happens b/c I can't help but get up at 2:00 am or so and check the radar...

Getting up at 2:00 a.m. to check the radar? Sounds like me in the winter months!

Oh I so hope we have some late night radar watching in December, January, February and March!!!!

Heck, maybe even late November!

HRRR appears to really be struggling tonight, it is not propagating the complex SE for another 3 or 4 hours. The cells clearly are not stationary right now, so don't know what the HRRR is up to.

I know Y'all don't like NW flow in the winter time, but for me it might be my favorite flow. NW flow gives me storms in the Summer and clipper trains in the Winter.

I wouldn't even worry about the HRRR. It's not even initiating the stuff in NW TX and eastern panhandle that's already there. Been all over the place. 3k NAM has performed decently the past few weeks. These mesoscale features is in the NAM's overall wheelbarrow especially in slow flow like this.

I love this! No time better than July...at the same time I feel really bad Portastorm is missing out...and the rainmiser's discontent so close but so far away. This is almost like how winter precip transpires between N and Central TX.

LOL the HRRR Is beyond terrible with this... latest run had it not even making it across the Red River... current radar has a line from Graham to Gainesviile...

I don't think I've seen an ouflow bounder look so well defined on radar in a while. I wish it was light outside so I could see it lol.

This line of storms that's about to push through DFW was a lot stronger when it was up in the panhandle earlier in the afternoon/evening. I saw some some real dark reds and at times even some purple on the radar earlier. I know the small town of Canadian up in the panhandle really took a pounding earlier. Regardless though, DFW will still probably get a good soaking with this complex.

I wish one of these lines would come through in daylight... I mean I know I'm happy to get it anytime this time of year, but it's light 15 hours a day right now

The NAM immediately redevelops another MCS for the mid to late morning towards lunch and DFW fails to hit 90.

The big airport picked up 0.29" of rain so far this morning. The line has held up pretty well against guidance. The southwestern end should've even exist if the short range models had their way but it's there. Maybe it can survive and make it toward parts of central Texas? Northern 'burbs of Austin perhaps?

Picked up a little over 1.5" out of last night's storms. Really strong wind, luckily no hail. Perfect for tonight's firework shows. Happy Indepence Day!

Happy Independece Day! The HRRR was garbage last night. It's been sort of wild recently but super glad we picked up some rain last night and hoping to do it again tonight.

Just about a perfect day weather wise for the 4th here in DFW. Kids did complain about being cold when getting out of pool because of the wind. Happy 4th!
