It definitely is producing lightning.

That area lighting up like a Christmas Tree.

Abilene, TX has thundersnow

At 7 pm CST, both McKinney TX (22 - TSTM) and Abilene, TX (18 - TSTM)

We had thundersnow yesterday of all days....and you couldnt tell by the daylight...just the claps.
