Developing low/lows...?

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Tue Sep 30, 2003 8:43 am

Well.. I just peaked at the satellites that were posted on here.. They look pretty impressive. The question is whether or not the NHC will eventually classify these things..

I personally think we will have TD 17 or a potential weak "Larry" as a rain maker for somebody.. probably Florida in the coming days..

Tampa- when a post gets shoved down the board.. a poster can use "bump" to bring it right back up..

I'm still counting on the frontal system to keep the rains away from north/central FL. I still guess...Orlando and south.

( but I'm keeping my umbrella and my kyack handy ...just in case)

We use "bump" when members haven't responded to a thread and there is nothing [for usually the one that started the thread] to say, so just posting "bump" gets the thread back to the top, where it will be more noticeable.

What I don't understand is to use "bump" and respond at the same time... :)

I believe that at least an hour should pass or if the thread is really at the bottom of page 1 or onto page 2 (what ever happens first) before it is 'just bumped' up...

John, I wouldn't consider it a "rule," perhaps "bump entiquette" :P -- if you don't mean to do it, why are you doing it? :)

Thread drift warning...I have to agree with Tom on this one. Seven minutes from origional post to bump seems a little quick. Peraonally I never bump a thread but that's just me I guess. If I post a new thread and get a response thats good if not I figure others had the same idea as me. As long as it got views it's fine with me. Not a personal attack at you Josephine96 by any means, just my opinion.

Beer 980... You're right... I won't bump anything as quick from now on... I'll wait an hour...

When you respond to every single post...

#20 Postby rockyman » Wed Oct 01, 2003 3:27 pm

people are less likely to read ANYTHING you write...I only respond when I have SOMETHING to say...not just "thanks" or "I agree" or "bump" When the strong, silent type speak (like Derecho), people listen...but when a Chatty Cathy speaks, people just tune out.
