NWS NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
800 AM EDT FRI SEP 16 2016

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

2. A tropical wave moving off of the coast of Africa into the far
eastern Atlantic is expected to move west-northwestward for the next
few days. Some development of this system is possible before
conditions become less favorable for tropical cyclone formation by
the middle of next week.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent
* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent

Looks like early model runs show this moving WNW/NW after passing the Cabo Verde islands.

A low pressure has formed and is attached with the twave.

A tropical wave extends across the western Africa coast with
axis from 19N16W to a 1009 mb low near 12N16W to 06N17W, moving
westward at 10-15 knots
. Patches of scattered moderate
convection are observed from 09N-19N between 09W-19W.
