It's very calm here in Fruit Cove with frogs, but not north of Jacksonville which they're getting winds of Tropical Storm force within the band.

No kidding. I am still getting blasted at least for the next 30 minutes or so until Julia's center moves north of me.

If you're able to post video that would be great. If you're not able, it's ok. Bet it's a wild ride.

Hey guys, just chiming in from WGV. I think the "eye" moved over us here at about 7:00 pm tonight. We easily had 30-40 mph gusts and all sideways rain. This system totally took everyone by surprise. Stay safe in north jax. Looks like we won't get much more, but still hoping for more rain.

Still getting heavy rain, but I just got a wind shift to the northwest just minutes ago. Julia"s. COC I do believe may have just passed or passing by my home currently. Wind sustained 30 mph with gusts to over 40 mph. Power just went out was well a moment ago.

It was quite intense around 7pm here, thunderstorms and tropical downpours with gusty winds

Local met showed a map that showed me getting almost 18 inches and said that can't be right. I agree.

this is expected to come to a standstill, so I wouldnt be surprised if isolated areas received that much rain

I am unfortunately using my cell phone at the moment as I have lost power for the time being.

Still getting heavy rain here and gusts to at least to40 mph. I am curious gang how fast is Julia's COC is moving right now? I am still right in the COC although I have to be on the backside of the COC because I had a windshift out of the northwest before my power went out fifteen minutes ago. So I do not have my normal computer applications to follow the conditions at the moment.

John G said that power outages would be "unlikely" but the risk is still there. Hope you get your power back soon.

Well, I out for the night. For anyone in the path, stay safe as Julia moves through Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. We'll see how it fares tonight and tomorrow morning. NWS Jax has a detailed briefing on Julia on its website if anyone is interested.

That would, interestingly, make this the most active year for Florida post-2005. And some people said it would be slow.

I hope the "some people" part is a hilarious joke...

Thanks, FL. Even I was finally getting close to thinking it was dead as far as TC formation chances were concerned. These kinds of under the radar types of systems are among my favorite to discuss and try to forecast. Fascinating stuff!

I just got 0.25" from a heavy squall ~11:30-45 PM giving me a total of 0.75" for today. Expecting a whole bunch more over the next couple of days.

I am still out of power, using my cell.phone.However, it appears to me for the past hour Julia"s COC has not moved much observing NWS Jax radar. .I am still getting squalls currently. It seems Duval County proper is right in the COC.
