Absolutely. After going through Andrew, Katrina, Gustav, and countless more, watching that live video of Cedar Key makes me cringe. I used to think an incoming storm would be a cool thing to experience, but I want no part of these things anymore. Thinking of you guys dealing with this.

Never cool on the immediate coast. Always terrifying.

I am really surprised Jim Cantore moved to Carabelle. Would have though he would like to be in the northeast quadrant

Edit: He could have stopped at Perry and had a better shot

Fearing the water from strom surge in the Big Bend reh i nion as the eye traversed right in the heart of Apalachee Bay. Just heard from EOC from Taylor County and they are saying possibe 9 feet of storm surge into that region.

[quote}"=northjaxpro"]First major outer band moving through NE Florida right now. Hermine really impressed today, very close to Cat 2 intensity of right now. Loos like landfall will be around midnight. Just under an inch at the start.[/quote]

Agree, it really has and the first fringe of the eyeball is making landfall (while strengthening!). I'm not at my locale but with St. Augustine by the coast, it might enhance the effects.

While its comparably nothing, outside extreme outflow envelope just has a marine warning NE of me in Lake Pontchartrain linked up in a line/band roughly to Eastern SC. Hopefully it will rotate through.

Looks like the northern eye is about on land in Franklin County.

Given how close this is to the coast and how close the plane is to base, they may stay there until landfall since it'll only be another few hours.
