Fall is coming to the Gulf Coast

#1 Postby PTrackerLA » Wed Sep 24, 2003 4:16 pm

This is from the NWS Lake Charles discussion:

EXTENDED...
FRONT NORTH OF COAST EARLY SUNDAY MORNING SHOULD CONTINUE SOUTH OVER
THE GULF FOLLOWED BY COOLER AND DRIER AIR. OVERNIGHT LOWS SHOULD
DROP TO ABOUT 50 TO 55 WEDNESDAY MORNING.

Don't break out the parkas yet but you might need a light jacket next week. We need more fronts like these to really close off the gulf for TC activity.

Great !!!!!

Tampa discussion clip

.OVERVIEW...WED EVENING'S SCT TSTMS A HARBINGER OF THINGS TO COME...
AS DEEPENING ESE FLOW BELOW 700 MB COMBINED WITH GRADUAL 500 MB
HEIGHT FALLS AND COOLING SET THE STAGE FOR INCREASING CHANCES AND
COVERAGE OF PCPN TO END THE WEEK AND BEGIN THE WEEKEND.
THEREAFTER...CROSS YOUR FINGERS...THE FIRST AIR MASS CHANGE OF THE
SEASON EASES INTO CENTRAL FL...PERHAPS EVEN REACHING SW FL BY MON.
SLIGHTLY COOLER BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY DRIER AIR RESIDES BEHIND IT.

Well now it doesn't look like the front will be as strong and they are only forecasting lows in the low 60's. Oh well I'll guess we'll try again in another week.
