Why aren't we hearing about the good news in Iraq....hmmmmm?

Indonesia: Soharto regime (1 to 2 millions farmers killed) supported by US and UK.
San Salvador: 1200 (800adults, 400kids) killed by special troops trained at Fort Benning.
Nicaragua
And more...more...more...
If you like, will advise names and books where find informations.
I do not have documents in my possession, but italian public tv transmitted some documentaries showing witnesses, declassified documents from US and UK embassys... If italian tv can, why not yours?
911 was a big tragedy, it touched me as everybody in the world. I do not
feel better 'cause it happened far away from me, or because I did not personally know the victims: I was touched exactly as you were.
The difference is that I am ALWAYS touched, and all died are the same. There is no Major League and Second Division. They are all the same.
I cannot see the joint between 911 and Iraq. Can you? Can you say "we won the war, Iraq is free and terrorism is finished?". Do you really believe that bombing people is a way to stop terrorism and hate?
I don't think so, and I don't sleep better because US troops (and italian, british, polish etc...) are there.

Paolo --- Do you know the definition of Terrorism?
You make the US out to be the Terrorists, while the people who have died as a result of war, to be the victims of our Terrorist agressions.
The US and its government has never once claimed that the war against terrorism is over, in fact just the contrary. I just don't understand where you are coming from. Is Iraq free? Perhaps you should ask the woman and children that have been raped and tortured over the years in Iraq, if they feel better now that SH has been removed from power.
As far as sleeping better or not because troops are occupying Iraq...perhaps you would feel better if SH was to come live in your Country, and seize power there! He's such a great guy after all...wwe should have left him alone and let him proliferate his weapons of mass destruction.
Tell me this please. Can you honestly say you would be able to sleep peacfully at night knowing SH was still in power??... sitting on top of a massive nuclear arsenal, knowing full well he has absolutely no reservations about using WMD against anyone..including his own people!!!!!!
WAKE UP!

Hey Steph....no need to look for that one other instance that we agreed on something...I agree with you 100% on this one too!

So you are against this war correct? Where can you show me in your google search that there are NO weapons of MD there? There is no proof as of yet that Saddam was linked to 9/11, but the evidence is mounting.
The countries you mentioned (other than Korea) are not an immediate threat IMO. But if they become a threat we should try a diplomatic approach. We could not do that with Saddam because it was obvious he was not going to comply with UN Resolutions. He left us no choice but to bomb his tail and run him out of town!!
OBL was a direct link to 9/11. His recently captured right hand man is talking.

the evidence is that US was and is involved in terrorism actions, that caused thousands murders.
When starting a war against terrorism, US and UK should not have double standards.
Read what hipocrisy means, and u get what I mean.

So you hate the United States? You feel that we are hypocrites? How did WE cause mass murder?

I do not hate USA. I disagree with a war made in the name of freedom, peace and many others bleblabla... The war against Iraq is in the name of oil and interests. US, UK, Russia used terrorism, were cause of murders (nobody today seems to remember Cecenia... Ops sorry, Russia is a friend now). Western countries are all involved and guilty. Do you really think, just to make an example, that France was against this war just for humanitarian reasons?
Knowledge, improve your knowledge, ask, study, see.
You don't have to believe me, but if a little doubt arise in you, try to document yourself. I repeat: an Italian public TV (RAI3) was able to find documents and evidences, why not you?
Mr Bush and Mr Blair told the nations that more than the power of their weapons, they have the power of their believes. Why not demostrating to honor these believes using the same standard to their own crimes?
So long

no...I try not to swear....5 letters..starts with l, ends with e...I was just politely trying to tell you to get lost!
But seriously....We Americans are very proud and supportive of our Government. Your dialog is easily interpreted as being Anti-American, regardless of how you say that is not true. I may be one of the few that speaks out, but I think I speak for the majority when I say this is not the time to bash America.

Paolo, there's no need to leave the board! You point of view is interesting even if I don't agree with you. America's hands do indeed have some blood on them in some of the examples you cite. However, you mention nothing of the other side of those conflicts. Unfortunately in many parts of the world life is just not held in as high regard. In many of these conflicts it's a matter of choosing between the lesser of two evils. War should never be the first choice but sometimes it's the only resort left.
As far as Iraq, we contributed to the rule of Saddam Hussein. For years he was the lessor of two evils as compared to the militant government in Iran. Not only did the US support him but the French, Italian, British and Germans just to name a few. Greed and self interest will always take the driver's seat. Saddam's aggression against Kuwait and refusal to abide by the sanctions of the UN left the US in a position to either allow that to happen or to do something about it. Our President decided to enforce the UN resolutions even if the UN wouldn't. This had the overwhelming support of the US people. The world is a btter place without Saddam in control of Iraq. Unfortunately, many of our young men and women as well as innocents in Iraq have paid the price for his removal. Iraq now has the chance to control their own destiny and establish a free society. Will they? I don't have a crystal ball but at least they have a chance to control their own fate.
