Another TV met passes from cancer - TWC's Dave Schwartz

This is horrible. While I didn't know Dave personally, everyone who has known him over the years says that he was a wonderful human being - humble, funny, and above all, resilient about his battle with cancer (a disease he fought in many episodes over the course of about a decade), while still keeping his sense of humor.

This sucks having to say this once again - but condolences to his colleagues, friends, and family.

Dave was the man. Early on in his twc career he was great and super loose. Every forecast was always "we are having..." Regardless of wherever he was talking about. He was one of my favorites, and I particularly liked it when he did overnight. RIP and hearts.

I am very saddened to learn about the passing of Dave Schwartz. I had never met him, only like many only seeing him on the TWC. I know he came back to the TWC recently, but I did not know of his battles with cancer. I had followed him through the years on TWC and my prayers and condolences go out to his family and colleagues over at The Weather Channel.

Dave Schwartz has to have been one of my if not favorite meteorologist at The Weather Channel, so calm, laid back, and funny. Very sad to have to see him go like that cancer is no laughing matter and he is one lucky guy to have been able to come through it successfully so many times. Unfortunately this time he wasn't so lucky, but he will be missed by many including I. I remember back in February I think when he came on air and told us he was diagnosed with it and he sounded so calm and chilled out not having a panic about anything.

R.I.P. Dave Schwartz(February 20th, 1953-July 30th, 2016), you will be missed my friend!
