This is too extreme and she did it right before landfall. Possibly nearing Category 3 had she stayed a few more hours over water.

given the pressure report that was cited a few posts back, this was either a strong TS or a minimal typhoon at landfall. I'd put the winds at 55-60 kts if I had to wager a guess.
The radar looked far more impressive than it was as the reds start at about 30 DBZ. That was not a closed eyewall on radar. It was simply over saturation of the color scheme

Was in Hanoi during Mirinae. Passed over the city as a goodstrength storm. Usual damage and floods. Peak winds at around 3:00 am. Gusts of at least 60km/h. Photos below.
