Looks like a Kelvin Wave is passing through the area, which is likely helping to enhance convection currently.

Given the ridging over the Southern United States/Gulf of Mexico, I doubt it.

If this were August and the TUTT wasn't there I would be concerned.
Be interesting to see how far this wave gets before it gets torn apart.

Tropical Weather Discussion for North America, Central America
Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, northern sections of South
America, and Atlantic Ocean to the African coast from the
Equator to 32N. The following information is based on satellite
imagery, weather observations, radar and meteorological analysis.

Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through
0930 UTC.


...TROPICAL WAVES...

Tropical wave extends from 07N45W to 17N43W moving W at 15 kt.
The wave remains embedded within the ITCZ with a 1014 mb low
centered along the wave axis near 11N.
The surface low coincides
with 700 mb troughing between 42W-50W and 850 mb relative
vorticity focused near the low. Widely scattered moderate
convection is from 10N-18N between 42W-51W.

embedded within a high amplitude surge of moisture that extends
to 24N as seen on the SSMI Total Precipitable Water imagery.
Scattered moderate to isolated strong convection is from 11N-14N
between 47W-50W.

Looks like this wave is sharpening up but I can't find my high resolution link for the area.
Anyone have a link for viewing the tropics east of -62?

A tropical wave is moving across the central Tropical Atlantic
with axis extending from 18N48W to a 1015 mb low near 12N49W to
07N49W, moving west near 20 kt over the past 24 hours.
The wave
coincides with a 700 mb trough as seen on the global models and
is embedded within a surge of moisture as seen on the SSMI Total
Precipitable Water imagery. Isolated moderate convection is from
07N-15N between 46W-53W.

Yellow alert have been activated for Guadeloupe and Martinica due to the arrival of the strong twave that should bring strong showers and tstorms... beginning this afternoon.

southward, moving westward 10 to 15 KNOTS. A 1015 MB low pressure
center is along the tropical wave near 14N.

and 54W.

No mention of the low previoulsy attached with the twave...

An Atlantic Ocean tropical wave extends its axis from 18N58W to
07N58W, moving westward 10 to 15 kt. This wave coincides with an
inverted 700 mb trough as noted in model guidance and it is
embedded within a surge of moisture depicted in TPW imagery.
Scattered moderate convection prevails across the northern portion
of the wave N of 14N between 55W-61W

Whereas, yellow alert has been extended to the Northern Leewards after Guadeloupe and Martinica this morning. More showers and tsorms should spread on these islands. Anyway, I will keep your informed if anything happens. Looks like more beneficials rains for us :) than too bad weather conditions 8-)

Here is the chart of Meteo-France Guadeloupe showing these 3 islands Under an yellow alert for a risk of strong showers and tstorms ( Martinica, Guadeloupe, Nothern Leewards : St Marteen and St Barth).
