looks we are seeing a "training effect" setup now into the Tampa Bay area with line of showers and squalls entering the region. As noted in the discussion thread, the line of squalls extends all the way south to Havana Cuba area. Looks like a long rainy night ahead for the Tampa area.

It's been steady light rain for most of the night here. Only .33 fell since 12am, pressure has fallen to 29.84. Worst of the rain expected to hit here early afternoon right during astronomical high tide which has prevented storm water to drain from recent flood events in west Pasco, plus the expected 1 to 3 feet tides on top of that.

GeIting hammered now with very heavy rain as the rainbands are now picking up in frequency at my locale. About an hour or so ago, a wind gust to 38 mph was recorded here as the first band went through.

I have already picked up an inch of rain and that will go up substantially when this current band moves through.

This thread might need to include areas north of FL. We're supposed to get 3-6 inches of rain with a flash flood watch in effect, not to mention coastal SC and NC may get some too.

I have family in Clearwater and they reported they lost power with that heavy band that rolled in.

Very heavy downpours in Citrus County this morning. No wind to speak of yet. Pressure dropping. Got drenched going after my re-entry pass -- lol

So far not much more than a brief shower and a refreshing breeze here in Seminole county. Can't complain since it's the most tropical action we've had in years.

Not much wind here at any point of the day and the lowest pressure was a few minutes ago (29.66) but is now rising. 1.37 inches of rain fell today so roughly 1.75 fell the past two days.

Colin bought tornadoes and wind damage to the Jax metro area this afternoon. There was an apparent tornado which toched down on the western portions of the Jax metro area on Interstate 10 near Chafee Road just after 3:00 this afternoon. A few cars and a couple of tractor trailer vehicles were flipped over, but thankfully no was was apparently killed. There were also wind damage reports near downtown Jax and in the Riverside area. NWS Jax mets will survey the I-10 and Chafee Roadpscene tomorrow. I am thinking F1 tornado touched down there.

Total rainfall around Jax metro range from generally 2-4 inches , with some spots down in Clay County have reported upward to 6 inches of rain to 6 p.m. Here at my home, I have measured 2.6 inches to this juncture.

We will pick up a bit more rain tonight as Colin pushes across North Florida and South GA overnight. Probably will see some gusts up to 30-35 mph in these bands through the evening. But, hopefully we won't see any more tornadoes. It was hectic here in Jax late this afternoon.
