I'm just glad everyone is safe but it's not even peak season yet. May might not be as kind too us..

Friday is another risk. I think that system has a little more to work with than this one. We may have a situation where morning convection leaves boundaries for the afternoon. It will kind of hang around through early next week as the low doesn't move much.

Friday's system looks similar but I assume the wind profiles will be more favorable for tornadoes. I don't think instability will be a issue.

Went to the donut shop this morning here in Collinsville and tree limbs just about litter every street. Lots of trees down and saw a few smaller ones snapped in half as well as a few privacy fences blown over.

Yikes. I know we got wind here (today is trash and recycle day and some people put theirs out last night and the cans are toppled) Some power outages nearby but we are ok here with underground utilities. No fences down here, a minor miracle.

Poor pup! Ours slept through everything but when we were in Dallas we did have to have her wear her Thundershirt. The only difference I can think of is that we haven't had the a/c on yet...

Storms came through with a bang in the holler. Downburst winds. Lost power at 5:15 am. Still out, although it is should be on now. Was not expecting that.

Grayson County looks to have had at least one confirmed tornado and maybe two last night. Tornado touchdowns were reported by spotters near Howe, Denison and Bells. A 90 mph wind gust was recorded in Sherman. This morning, crews are dealing with storm damage in Howe and Whitesboro. There were a total of five injuries according to OEM and police. Schools are closed today in the Howe ISD (tornado and/or wind damage); Collinsville ISD (power); and at Denison High (power).

Local media indicate that Fort Worth NWS is surveying three areas of possible tornado damage in Grayson County. In one of those areas, five homes near Howe received "significant" damage. There were also several vehicles overturned near Howe as a reported tornado crossed over Hwy. 75.

What is this Thurs night through Friday looking like severe wise? Our local mets are looking at it as mostly just heavy rain.

Lost in everything starting next week the core of the colder than normal anomalies will be focused on the southern plains Texas included. Its late April so its not cold, and I don't think record lows will be broken but low daily highs may be seen especially if rain dampers the daytime hours. This pattern looks to continue through May. The core of the cool anomalies through summer will likely focus in our region. 1906, 1973, 1983, and 2007 are all viable analogs transition years.

Its late April so its not cold, and I don't think record lows will be broken but low daily highs may be seen especially if rain dampers the daytime hours. This pattern looks to continue through May. The core of the cool anomalies through summer will likely focus in our region. 1906, 1973, 1983, and 2007 are all viable analogs transition years.

Was not 1983 a cool summer? I was a senior in high school...never really noticed..LOL

.7 inches of rain in Sugar Land for me. Recorded 35 MPH gust. Nothing crazy with this system. I'm in a neighborhood but have a clear shot from the north where the wind came from. I was expected the rain to mKe it to Houston!

Wish I fared as well as you all did. I awoke to one-third of my beautiful red oak tree in the front yard being split and down on the ground. I heard the winds and knew they were strong but I had no idea they were THAT strong. I'm guessing winds gusts to 60 mph at the PWC per the tree damage. Lots of tree damage in my neighborhood.

Howdy all - the storms rolled through here at about 4:15-5AM and dropped a quick .77" of rain. We must have had gusts close to 60mph. A weather station near the house had a gust to 56mph. Some trees down around the neighborhood.
