SPC so far has done a good job with this episode. Except for the PDS watch. I'm not sure having a 10% tornado odd warrants such a watch by their logic. That's just your typical spring odds outbreak. Though there was uncertainty so I guess they sided with caution which is always advisable. Still though I've seen them not issue PDS watches with TOR odds greater than they had today.

I agree. They have done a fantastic job! It just came through us and all we recieved was some strong wind gusts and heavy rain for around 10 min.

The PDS watch definitely surprised me more because of the 10% tornado... I'm still not sure exactly what the reasoning was behind it.

I haven't been overly hyped up about this setup being some historic outbreak in a few days now either.

I don't think most forecasters and mature amateurs thought this would be a historical outbreak, a significant outbreak was possible, but too many disruptors were known a few days before that would limit the ceiling of this event. I think the PDS watch was in reaction to the 18z sounding at OUN as it showed some promise severe wise, and some shortwave models even had some of the line breaking apart. However, they probably could have waited to post the watch for a lot of the Eastern areas and if they had waited 2-3 hours I'm sure they wouldn't have gone with a PDS watch for OKC and the Dallas Metro. But, if SPC is going to bust I'd rather them bust by predicting the worst than them to bust by them under doing an event that ended up being deadly. Of course you want to limit your bust, but typically severe events aren't as hard to forecast as this one was with all the variables that limited this one but might not have had the storms not gone linear so quickly.

Look out in Cook County. I'm starting to see some rotation with that one discrete cell.

The Next system to watch will be the Friday one, I know Ntxw has had his eye on it. This one will likely be another tricky forecast, the GFS and NAM are a tale of two cities right now. Some of the concerns that helped limit this system could limit the next one. Hopefully nothing bad happens Friday, but I'm really hoping SPC doesn't go too conservative when its not warranted just because of today.

Had some rotation just west of here and saw it moving northeast going for Whitesboro which is only 8 minutes north of here.

We took shelter, sirens were going. Multiple reports of a cone tornado on the ground near Denison, at one point I thought I could hear a roar. No damage in Denison that I know of however. No hail at my house but it was an intense storm for sure with terrible lightning.

Reports of damage in Whitesboro and of a 90 mph wind gust in Sherman.

Don't know how bad the damage is in Whitesboro but Grayson County OEM just tweeted that a shelter has been opened at the First Baptist Church there. Hope that's just a precaution.

Very noisy storm here... very vivid lightning and house shaking thunder. Lights have blinked a couple times while I'm sitting here.
